LITTLE DANDELION PLAY THERAPY

What is Play Therapy

Play Therapy is a specialised therapeutic approach that uses play and creative arts as the primary way for children to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Children naturally communicate through play rather than words, so a trained Play Therapist creates a safe, supportive space where the child can explore emotions, process difficult experiences, and rehearse healthier ways of coping — all at their own pace. It is an integrative, holistic method that combines various creative techniques (sandplay, art, puppets, music, etc.) within a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Benefits of Play Therapy

Research gathered by Play Therapy UK from thousands of cases shows that 70–84% of children receiving Play Therapy from APAC-trained practitioners experience significant positive change in their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and social skills. Benefits include reduced anxiety and trauma symptoms, improved confidence and self-esteem, better emotional regulation, enhanced concentration and learning readiness, and stronger relationships. It is particularly effective for children aged 4–13 who struggle to verbalise their feelings, helping them move from emotional distress toward greater resilience and potential
